ALL SPORTS & VOLLEYBALL CAMPS COACH
Dan Bozarth came to Caldwell in 2005 as the head baseball coach and athletics director, positions he holds today. "Coach Bo"; started coaching the Eagles'; varsity volleyball team in 2012 and led the club to state titles in 2015 and 2020.
Coach Bozarth developed Caldwell's volleyball team into a state power in his tenure. In addition to the two North Carolina Independent Schools Athletics Association (NCISAA) titles, the Eagles are three-time state runners-up and have played in five state semifinals. Caldwell has won nine straight Piedmont Triad Athletic Conference (PTAC) crowns and recorded eleven 20-win seasons. A nine- time league coach of the year, Coach Bozarth has guided Caldwell students to 20 all-state selections and none conference players of the year. Ten of his former students advanced to play college volleyball.
On the diamond, Coach Bozarth's Eagles placed second in the 2012 and 2018 NCISAA 2A playoffs and won the PTAC title in 2012 and 2017. Caldwell's baseball team has made 12 straight trips to the state playoffs. Coach Bozarth is a four-time PTAC Coach of the Year. Twelve of his former students have gone on to play college baseball, including three members of the 2021 team.
In addition to his Caldwell coaching, Coach Bozarth is a club director for the Beach South Volleyball Club and has also coached with the Piedmont Volleyball Club. Before coming to Caldwell Coach Bozarth worked as an assistant sports information director at UNC Greensboro and as a sports director at the High Point YMCA. He owns a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science from UNC Greensboro and a master's in sport management from High Point University.
Coach Bozarth and his wife have two daughters, Madison ‘23 and Ellie ‘27. The family worships at Westover Church and enjoys watching movies.
HOOPS FACTORY BASKETBALL COACH
Brandon Clifford just completed his third season as the varsity boys basketball coach, leading the Eagles to the conference championship in 2024. Coach Clifford is a former Page High School basketball standout with well over 10 years of scholastic basketball coaching experience and is nearing the 300-win mark. In addition to high school coaching, Clifford spent time as a player development coach with the Dallas Mavericks and is a coach with Chris Paul’s Team CP3 youth program.
CHEER CAMP COACH
Suzanne Howard is in her second year as the varsity cheer coach at Caldwell Academy. She has cheered at both the high school and collegiate level. She has overseen Caldwell’s performance at the ACC Football Championship and led numerous youth cheer camps.
GIRLS BASKETBALL ELITE CAMP COACH
Mike Johnston has coached the Caldwell Varsity Girls’ Basketball team since 2019. Johnston has over 20 years of coaching experience running soccer programs, basketball programs, and camps. Prior to Caldwell Academy, Coach Johnston served as both the boys and girls basketball coach at the American Hebrew Academy. In his tenure at AHA, Coach Johnston amassed over 100 victories and several of his players have gone on to play at the professional level in both Israel and Europe. In addition to his role with girls’ basketball at Caldwell Academy, Coach Johnston is the women’s soccer coach at Greensboro College.
SOCCER CAMP COACH
Coach Sliwinski is in his second year as the Director of Soccer Operations at Caldwell Academy. Prior to Caldwell, Sliwinski served as the Associate Head Coach at Elon University from 2017-2021. As Associate Head Coach, Sliwinski was in charge of player development, player recruitment, management, budget allocations, team travel, equipment purchases, camp sales, and marketing. Prior to Elon, Sliwinski enjoyed coaching stints at Fairfield University, Radford University, Lafayette, and St. John’s University.
A native of Poland, Sliwinski played four seasons at Iona College where he was a two-year captain and was a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic team. During his time at Iona, he interned with the New York Red Bulls where he assisted in team operations and game preparation.
Sliwinski earned his undergraduate degree in finance and later added a master’s degree in sports management from St. John’s University. He also has experience outside of the college game, serving as the Director of Coaching with the Brooklyn Italians.
